Top Cannabis Reviewers September 2024

Thanks for joining us for a roundup of the top authors who posted cannabis reviews on six popular cannabis subreddits in September 2024.

Our data is sourced by scraping these subreddits and analyzing the information with AI to extract sentiment. We measure the attention each post received through upvotes, downvotes, and comments, which all contribute to a trend score. This trend score is then summed by author to show the total impact each author achieved over the month.

In this post, we examine the authors across several dimensions, including trend score, the number of posts, and the average upvote ratio each author achieved. We highlight the top 10 authors for each of these dimensions above the full data table, which contains all 246 authors who posted reviews this month.

Key Averages from the Dataset

Before diving into the top-line data, let’s take a look at some of the averages for the dataset:

• Number of Posts: There were 537 distinct posts this September, averaging 2.30 posts per author across the total of 246 authors.
• Subreddits: It is beneficial for authors to post reviews across multiple subreddits. However, most authors only post on one subreddit, with an average of 2.19 subreddits per author. A huge jump from last month's average, 1.14 subreddits per author.
• Upvote Ratio: Reddit provides an upvote ratio for every post, and we have averaged this ratio by author across all their posts for September. The average upvote ratio across all 246 authors was 87.0%. Up from last month's 83.8% average.
• Sentiment Value: Our AI assigns a sentiment value to each post ranging from 0 to 10. The average sentiment value for all 246 authors was 7.80. Down slightly from last month's 7.89 out of 10.
• Trend Score: The trend score is a composite measure of upvotes, downvotes, and comments, reflecting the level of attention and user engagement each post received. The average trend score per author was up slightly, 552.68 this month versus 543.95 in August.

The top authors this month made 19 unique posts each. The average is 2.2 posts per author.

Average Upvote Ratio

All authors in the top 10 received more than 99% upvote ratio. The average this month was 87%.

Trend Score

The top trending author this month garnered 5174 trend points, that's up from last month's top author with 4,653 trend points. The second-place author achieved just over 4,592 points. All authors in the top 10 by trend score had over 2,100 points for September, which is nearly 4 times higher than the average trend score of any author posting a review in September (552).
