The data comes from scraping six popular cannabis subreddits and analyzing those posts with AI to extract sentiment. Upvotes, downvotes, and comments are used to calculate trend score, our measurement of how much attention a product is getting.
These products make the list not only for strong sentiment but also for negative attention—good or bad, people are talking about them. We sum trend score by brand and display those brands on Bud Trendz so you can see what’s hot in any four-hour period. We use 🔥 for positive reviews, 💩 for negative reviews, and ↔️ for neutral sentiment. For example, if a brand has one 🔥 and one 💩, they’re getting mixed reviews; if they have four 🔥, they’re clearly doing well. Neutral sentiment is shown with the double arrow emoji.
