The data is sourced from scraping six popular cannabis subreddits and analyzing the results with AI to extract sentiment. We use upvotes, downvotes, and comments to calculate a Trend Score, which is our primary measurement of the attention a product has received.
It is important to reiterate that these products make the list for both good and bad sentiment. We sum the trend scores by brand and display them on Bud Trendz so you can see what is hot in any four-hour period. To make things easy to scan, we use 🔥 for a positive review, 💩 for a negative review, and the double arrow 🔄 for neutral sentiment.
The number of emojis tells the story: if a brand has a 💩 and a 🔥, they are receiving mixed reviews and might be a "buyer beware" situation.
